Where We Work

We work on live pipelines in every state and territory of Australia, as well as the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. Two depots, and we fly in and out for the rest.

Call 1800 468 827 and tell us where the site is. If we don’t already have someone near you, we’ll tell you what travelling in means for the job.

Our depots

Melbourne: 2/33-39 Corporate Boulevard, Bayswater VIC 3153.

Gold Coast: 8/5 Coghill Drive, Currumbin Waters QLD 4223.

Those are where the equipment lives. They aren’t the limit of where we work.

Regions we service

All states and territories, plus the Pacific Islands and New Zealand. We regularly fly in and out to service clients, and a lot of our work is on sites a long way from either depot: mine sites, steelworks, aluminium smelters, hospitals, universities, data centres, defence facilities and government installations.

Where we have written up a region in detail, it is linked below, grouped by state.

Victoria

New South Wales

Queensland

South Australia

Western Australia

Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the ACT

We work in every state and territory. We have not written these up as their own pages yet, so ring us and describe the site.

What travelling in actually means

If your site is near one of the depots, it’s a normal job. If it isn’t, the difference is mobilisation, and the way to keep that down is to get the job right in one visit rather than two.

So for a site outside Victoria or south east Queensland we’ll usually ask more questions before we quote than a local contractor would. Pipe size, material, what’s in the line, the pressure, how you get to the pipe, and whether there’s anything else on site worth doing on the same trip. That last one matters: if a job needs a hot tap and a freeze and a pressure test, doing them on one mobilisation is materially cheaper than three.

Approvals differ by state

Worth knowing if you’re planning live gas work: the approval path isn’t national. Each state has its own technical regulator, and live work on gas installations generally needs that regulator’s authorisation before it starts, assessed job by job.

In Victoria that’s Energy Safe Victoria, and Australian Hot Taps was the first company they accredited to hot tap and stop off live gas lines, back in 1998 when they were the Office of Gas Safety. If you’re planning gas work in another state, ask us early rather than late. Approval lead time is usually the thing that moves a programme, not the tap itself.

What we do wherever we go

The full list travels with us: hot tapping, line stopping, pipe freezing, live valve insertion, live gas diversions, squash offs, bag off isolation, leak repair under pressure, thermowell installation, testing and purging and piping services.

Not sure which one your job needs? There’s a comparison on which method do I need.

Getting a job on the calendar

  • Where the site is
  • Pipe size and material
  • What’s in the line, and at what pressure and temperature
  • What you’re trying to achieve
  • Your window, and how firm it is
  • Anything else on site worth doing on the same visit

Call 1800 468 827 or email [email protected]. If you’re not sure whether we cover your area, just give us a call, we’ll ask a few questions and let you know.
